Which schools filled up in Phase 2A

40 of 179 primary schools closed Phase 2A with at least as many applicants as seats. At those schools nothing was left to roll forward — Phase 2B opened on the seats MOE reserves by rule, and nothing more.

Every one of the other 138 schools still had room after 2A. That is the part most parents never hear.

A school missing from this list is not necessarily an easy one. Several of the hardest schools in Singapore clear Phase 2A comfortably and then fill up in Phase 2B or 2C instead.

How to read this

Phase 2A is for children of alumni, staff, and school-linked families. The ratio below is Phase 2A applicants divided by the Phase 2A seats offered. At exactly 1.0× demand matched supply and every 2A applicant still got a place. Above 1.0×, some did not.

School size stops mattering once this happens. MOE holds back a floor of 20 seats for Phase 2B and 40 for Phase 2C at every school, however big it is — only leftover Phase 2A seats add to that. So a 360-place school and a 120-place school can offer a Phase 2B parent exactly the same number of seats.

31 of these 40 went to a ballot in Phase 2A, and where the cut-off band is shown, that is where the seats ran out. The rest did not need one — the seats ran out cleanly at a distance band, so families were turned away without a draw.
